‘Midway upon the journey of our life I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost.’ Forests have come to represent the edge of civilization and the unconscious part of the human mind, a place of mists where magical beings thrive and transformations happen. In my body of work I use the motif of the leaf as a way to represent the subconscious, that which is informed by our fleeting memories of childhood.
