BLABWORLD presents The Fine Art of Illustration, featuring
original artwork from Rolling Stone, Time, Playboy, Penguin Books,
and a host of other periodicals and publications.

Award-winning illustrators represented in the exhibit include
Tim O'Brien, Owen Smith, Edel Rodriguez, Gary Taxali, Brian Cronin,
Marc Burckhardt, Cathie Bleck, and Chris Buzelli, among others.

"Based on current auction prices, the great divide that once existed
between illustration and fine art is rapidly diminishing," commented
curator Monte Beauchamp, founder, designer, and editor of
BLABWORLD, a hardcover, full-color anthology of painting, illustration,
printmaking, and sequential art. In February 2012, Beauchamp was
the recipient of the Society of Illustrators prestigious Richard Gangel
Art Director Award.

"Norman Rockwell, Maxfield Parrish, and N.C. Wyeth were popular
illustrators of their day and look at the prices their originals now sell for,"
he added. "A Saturday Evening Post cover by Rockwell brings millions.
Maxfield Parrish's 'Sheltering Oaks,' a 1960 calendar illustration, sold
for $782,500 at Christie's in 2010. N.C. Wyeth's cover illustration for the
novel Robinson Crusoe brought $722,500. Illustration has entered into
the canon of fine art."

Among the guest illustrators attending will be Tim O'Brien, Cathie Bleck,
Chris Buzelli, CHema Skandal! and Larry Day.
